Gravity Band Filter
How Our Gravity Band Filter Works
- Slurry Introduction
- The influent slurry (liquid with suspended solids) is delivered onto the top end of a moving media filter belt (usually made of polyester or polypropylene mesh).
- Gravity Separation
- The filter media is inclined slightly downward or laid horizontally.
- As the slurry flows along the media, gravity pulls the liquid through the porous media while solids remain on top.
- Filtrate Collection
- The filtered liquid (filtrate) drains through the media into a collection pan or tank below.
- Solids Transport
- The media slowly moves forward (driven by a motor), carrying the retained solids with it.
- Solids Discharge
- At the discharge end, the spent media and solids are dumped into a collection bin or conveyor for further processing or disposal.
