Rendering Plant Floating AutoWeir and Palin® Sludge Consolidator

In general, protein rendering plants have a central waste collection tank which collects water and various animal byproducts. A primary filter removes bulk solids. Smaller and generally lighter fats and solids pass into an equalization tank. Liquid is pumped from the equalization tank to the waste treatment facility.

The floating byproducts can contain substantial protein. A floating skimmer collects the material at the surface and transfers the byproduct to a flotation concentrator for further concentration. The system design requires no additional chemistry.

The concentrated material is dried, pasteurized and can be used as a chemical free additive to pet foods or animal feed.
